I had my first experience in a hospitality job at age thirteen, being of such a young age and being employed in the hospitality industry taught me many valuable lessons. Many years later, while completing my HSC I ventured down the path of event planning obtaining a qualification alongside my high school certificate. My next adventure landed me studying a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education, a long-time career plan of mine. This, of course, did not go quite to plan. It was my second year of university when I was introduced to Human Resource Management and knew that this was where I was supposed to be. I began actively seeking industry-specific internships, and shortly after I changed degrees to match my new goal.
Since, my professional development has led me to many exciting, and challenging opportunities and has allowed me to develop many transferable skills. Eventually, my career landed me successful in obtaining my current role at BENCHMARQUE. I have certainly met my match at BENCHMARQUE, finding my love for Events, Hospitality, and People in one role. I am now responsible for the end-to-end management of all things Events.
